Care Instructions

Most tools are made with stainless steels which typically carry low maintenance requirements due to the excellent corrosion resistance properties. I recommend you hand wash and dry your tool before placing it back in it's sheath. A light coating of food-safe oil is recommended to further enhance corrosion resistance.

Never wash in a dishwasher.

Most handles (like wood) have been treated with several coats of oil for protection and may be stabilized. Depending on the species of wood this may last a lifetime. Certain woods can dry out with excessive use and exposure to water and detergents. (Always wash your tool by hand, never in the dishwasher) Additional applications of oil are a great way you restore life and luster. I use Odie's oil primarily, but a quality wood treatment will work. I recommend avoiding shellac or anything that will leave a plastic-like layer on top of the wood. Stabilized wood may not need oiling.

Sharpen your tool with any typical system (wet stones, diamonds, ceramics, whatever) maintaining a consistent angle. Lifetime sharpening is included with every tool purchase, just contact me via email and pay return shipping.

*Folder Specific Care*
The lock bar is set for recommended action. This of course can be adjusted by bending the lock bar but is NOT RECOMMENDED. This will void your warranty.

If you notice action is slow or sticky or having trouble fully opening or closing with ease, simply disassemble your piece cleaning all parts with a sunshine cloth or equivalent. Reassemble with a standard oil (comes with Super Lube applied initially) on the bearings and small dab inside the detent hole reassembling with blue Loctite on the pivot screws. Tighten until blade is centered. Do not over tighten pivot.

Composite materials used for scales are not as strong as titanium. Do NOT over tighten pivot or body screws. Tighten until blade is centered, blue loctite.
